Compulsory Microchipping of dogs in England comes into operation today

Government legislation on compulsory microchipping for dogs in England comes into effect today (6th April).
Dog owners have a responsibility to ensure their dogs are microchipped and contact details are up-to-date and registered on the appropriate database. The legislation aims to protect dog welfare and encourage responsible ownership, as well as reunite lost or stolen pets with their owners.
Microchip training courses must be approved by the Secretary of State.
More information on our DEFRA approved course can be found here. Successful completion of the qualification will allow you to join our Register of qualified microchip implanters.
