New Level 5 Advanced Diplomas in Veterinary Nursing launched!

We are delighted to announce that our suite of skills-based Level 5 Advanced Diplomas in Veterinary Nursing are now available on the OFQUAL portal, and ready for delivery by Centres. These are available in the special interest areas of medical, surgical and practice nursing.

The recognised qualifications are expected to take 12 months to complete and are assessed via a combination of online written exams, a skills portfolio, case scenarios, assignments and practical exams.

Feedback from the initial consultation on the proposed qualifications showed that 96% of respondents agreed that skills-based qualifications in these subjects are necessary and/or useful.

Our Qualifications Manager, Sam McMillan, presented on the subject at The College of Animal Welfare Head Nurse Congress on 11 May.

She said: “It’s an exciting time within the veterinary nursing industry and to be involved in the creation of such iconic qualifications. We’re thrilled with the positive reaction gained by the industry and are confident that developing these skills based qualifications will give veterinary nurses the opportunity for further career growth and improve nurse retention in the industry.”
