VMD Temporary Relaxations Ending

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) temporarily relaxed the enforcement of specific provisions of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations (VMR) 2013 to allow:

  • Suitably Qualified Persons (SQPs) to prescribe and authorise supply of veterinary medicines remotely for the categories of veterinary medicines they are allowed to prescribe and supply under the VMR.
  • Suitably Qualified Persons (SQPs) to supply veterinary medicines from temporary premises. Wholesale dealers will be allowed to supply veterinary medicines to SQPs at such temporary premises.

The VMD is ending all of these temporary relaxations from 31st August 2020.  After this date SQPs will no longer be able to prescribe remotely or from a temporary premises.
