Rase Veterinary Nursing College marks major milestone with first learner to qualify as RVN
VetSkill approved centre Rase Veterinary College has marked a major milestone, having recently celebrated their first learner to pass the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and officially qualify as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN).
This is a spectacular achievement for the college, which initially opened and welcomed its first cohort of learners to study the VetSkill VTEC Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Companion Animal) in 2022. Throughout its journey, the college has seen multiple cohorts begin training on the course; but it is only this year that the first learners have started graduating.
Chelsea Cartwright (pictured below) is the first of Rase’s students to pass the OSCE and become eligible to register as an RVN.
Chelsea comments:
“I undertook the Veterinary Nursing Diploma at Rase Veterinary Nursing College in 2022, which was the first year of the college course. This course has been invaluable to begin my dream career as a veterinary nurse. I passed my final exam in March this year and then became the first student to qualify at the college. I am beyond proud of my achievements and ready to become an advocate to my patients, giving them and their owners the best care and experience I can offer”.
Based in Market Rasen, Rase is Lincolnshire’s first veterinary nurse training college, opening new doors to aspiring individuals in the local area and beyond. The educational facility started as a small, self-grown venture, working in conjunction with Rase Veterinary Centre to bring in new students.
This achievement marks more than just an individual success for Rase; it reflects the rapid growth and high-quality training delivered by the college in just a short time.
A representative of Rase Veterinary Nursing College says:
“Having our first student pass their OSCE is a significant milestone for us at Rase Veterinary Nursing College, and it truly marks the culmination of hard work, dedication, and growth of our students. The journey to this point has been both challenging and rewarding, filled with long hours of study and practice. Working with VetSkill has been an invaluable part of this process. This achievement is a testament to teamwork, perseverance, and the incredible guidance we've received along the way”.
The VetSkill VTEC Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Companion Animal) embraces the evolving evidence-based veterinary nursing sector and encompasses contemporary practice. The regulated qualification is designed to develop veterinary nurses with a holistic approach to their work, a passion for making a difference to the lives of animals, and a robust understanding of their professional responsibilities.
We send our congratulations to Chelsea Cartwright for their success and wish the best of luck to all the learners at Rase who are soon to follow in Chelsea’s footsteps. This is a fantastic achievement, which we are so proud to be celebrating with the college.
