Our commitment
At VetSkill, we believe that an inclusive environment, which celebrates and promotes equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), is fundamental in meeting our mission to inspire success in alignment with VetSkill’s five core values: Inspiration, Working together, Integrity, Simplicity and Quality.
VetSkill recognises the value of a diverse community and its potential to present a variety of perspectives, experiences and ideas. Therefore, we actively nurture a culture where every individual, regardless of background, identity, or experience, can thrive and contribute to their fullest potential.
By embracing diverse perspectives and addressing barriers that hinder equity, we aim to create an environment where all learners, apprentices, clients, stakeholders, employees, contractors and representatives of VetSkill feel valued, supported and empowered.
This statement evidences our sustained commitment to embedding EDI as a critical component in our internal and external culture.
What we do:
We acknowledge that EDI is an ongoing journey, requiring continuous learning, action and reflection. With this in mind, we have established the VetSkill EDI Committee, which meets bi-monthly to ensure all areas of VetSkill can play a role in our journey. Additionally, we…
…have developed an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy, which applies to all VetSkill staff, contractors, centre and training provider personnel, learners and apprentices.
…actively seek out feedback from staff and centres through surveys, and review survey outcomes in EDI Committee meetings, which in turn, helps us to develop our EDI Action Plan.
…have created an EDI Strategy, consisting of targets that allow us to measure our progress and hold us accountable to our commitment.
…have produced guidance on pronouns and inclusivity for VetSkill employees, contractors and representatives.
