Assessment methods:
-
In the Apprentice Presentation with Questions, the apprentice delivers a presentation to an Independent End Point Assessor (IEPA) on a set subject. The IEPA will ask questions after the presentation. This provides the apprentice the opportunity to demonstrate the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) mapped to this assessment method.
The presentation must cover a summary of their role as a team leader, and what they do and how this is relevant to their role and the organisation. It should focus on how they tackle current topics and will cover all KSBs assigned to this method.
A planning meeting will take place during which the apprentice will be given their presentation topic. The purpose of the presentation is to allow the apprentice to demonstrate their competence against the grading descriptors.
Please find more information about presentation topics, themes and grading descriptors in the specification linked above.
Duration: 50 minutes (plus 10% if required)
Location: Apprentice’s workplace (either face to face or remote)
Graded: Fail / Pass / Distinction
-
A structured Professional Discussion will be conducted between the apprentice and the IEPA. The Professional Discussion will provide the apprentice with the opportunity to demonstrate the KSBs mapped to this assessment method.
The IEPA will ask at least five (5) questions during the Professional Discussion. The apprentice must have access to their portfolio of evidence during the Professional Discussion and can refer to and illustrate their answers with evidence from this portfolio, however, the portfolio of evidence is not directly assessed.
Please find more information about portfolio themes in the specification linked above.
The Professional Discussion is conducted under controlled conditions and has been designed to take place either in the apprentice’s workplace or remotely.
Duration: 60 minutes (plus 10% if required)
Location: Apprentice’s workplace (either face to face or remote)
Graded: Fail / Pass / Distinction
