Strategy & Roadmap

VetSkill has developed a Sustainability Strategy for 2025-2030, outlining our approach to minimising environmental impact while promoting social responsibility for all stakeholders, including our employees, clients, and the wider community.

Our strategy reflects a longstanding commitment not only to meeting today’s sustainability needs, but also to protecting the resources and opportunities of future generations.

It provides a clear framework to guide our decisions and ensure that sustainability remains at the heart of our operations, culture, and long-term direction.

Our Goals

  • We aim to ensure that, where possible, all materials and products purchased are responsibly sourced.

By practicing sustainable procurement, we will actively reduce our carbon footprint, support ethical labour practices, and make decisions that will conserve natural resources. Sustainable procurement contributes to a more responsible and resilient supply chain.

  • Our goal is to reduce energy consumption by implementing sustainable practices, optimising energy efficiency, and transitioning to renewable energy sources, while fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.

Reducing energy usage is a key strategy for both environmental sustainability and cost savings. By doing this, we can aim to significantly lower our overall energy demand. Additionally, adopting energy-efficient practices will reduce our carbon footprint and environmental impact, whilst promoting resource conservation.

  • Our target is to promote sustainable practices, conserving water resources and optimising water efficiency.

Reducing water consumption is essential for promoting sustainability as it ensures that future generations have access to clean and reliable water sources. Water is a finite resource, as freshwater supplies are limited and increasingly adversely affected by population growth, climate change and pollution. Reducing water consumption reduces energy consumption as water treatment and distribution require a significant amount of energy. In addition to this, conserving water helps to protect ecosystems as excessive water extraction can harm wildlife habitats and reduce biodiversity. By minimising water consumption, we can lower operating costs, whilst reducing our environmental footprint.

  • We aim to minimise waste generation, maximise recycling and reuse where possible, to reduce environmental impact and contribute to a circular economy.

Waste management is a crucial aspect of environmental sustainability and business responsibility. Properly managing waste helps reduce pollution, conserve natural resources and minimise the impact of landfills on ecosystems. Responsible waste management is required in order to comply with environmental regulations, which cover the proper disposal, recycling and treatment of waste materials to reduce the negative impacts of waste on the environment and human health, with an emphasis on minimising waste generation and encouraging resource recovery.

  • Our goal is to actively contribute to the well-being of the local community by promoting environmental stewardship, community projects and social equity.

It is important that all businesses show support in the local community with regard to sustainability efforts because it strengthens their ties to the communities they serve and fosters a positive culture of sustainability. By nurturing a positive culture of sustainability, we will actively support the local economy and improve social well-being.

  • We aim to minimise the environmental impact of business travel and events by adopting environmentally conscious practices, promoting responsible resource use, and reducing carbon emissions, all the while fostering a culture of sustainability within the organisation.

Working towards sustainable travel and events will not only reduce environmental impact but will also lower our operational costs and enhance corporate social responsibility. Travel and events often contribute significantly to carbon emissions and resource consumption, so adopting more sustainable practices will help us to mitigate our environmental footprint. This may involve selecting sustainable modes of transport, prioritising venues that use renewable energy and minimising waste as well as encouraging virtual meetings or hybrid events. By prioritising sustainability at events, we hope to attract environmentally conscious customers and employees.

  • Our target is to make a positive impact on biodiversity and natural ecosystems by adopting practices and supporting initiatives that protect natural habitats.

Biodiversity relates to all life on earth, habitats and how living beings interact with each other. It is vital that biodiversity is protected to allow nature to continue to provide valuable resources necessary to sustain life, including clean air and water. We aim to support biodiversity and sustainability by adopting practices that protect natural ecosystems and the responsible use of resources.
