Advanced Veterinary Nursing learners at CVTC pass exam with flying colours
Huge congratulations to the learners at Chester Veterinary Training Centre (CVTC) who have all now passed their written examination for the VetSkill Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Practice Nurse) with flying colours.
This achievement is well deserved, as learners are required to devote a substantial amount of time and commitment to rigorously develop their knowledge, understanding, and practical skills as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to a mastery level beyond that of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Day One Skills and Competences.
The learners all performed exceptionally, resulting in an 89% first time pass rate for this cohort.
Head of Centre, Jackie Evans, comments on the success:
“We are delighted with the recent exam results for our L5AVN Practice Nurse students. We are proud to have been able to support them on this learning journey with their amazing achievement so far before completing the qualification”.
The VetSkill Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Practice Nurse) is intended to provide practical skills and underpinning knowledge relevant to the role of a Registered Veterinary Nurse in practice and consulting environments and demonstrate mastery of practice nursing skills. Evidence-based nursing and research are expected throughout this qualification to explore best practices and critically compare current processes.
Upon achievement of this qualification, learners will receive and be able to use the trademarked post-nominals ‘Dip AdvVNPN’ in their professional title to publicly display their credentials to clients. Additionally, the VetSkill VTEC Level 4 Award for Animal Medicines Advisors (SQP - Companion Animal) is built into this qualification and allows learners to display their C-SQP status with their post-nominals.
CVTC is a VetSkill approved training provider with three centres in Chester in the Northwest of England, Dereham in Norfolk and Harrogate in North Yorkshire, who have been training student veterinary nurses since 2009. In addition to the Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Practice Nurse), the CVTC sites are also approved by VetSkill to deliver the VTEC Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Emergency and Critical Care), VTEC Level 4 Award for Animal Medicines Advisors (SQP - Companion Animal), VTEC Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Companion Animal), and the Level 2 Certificate in Veterinary Care Support.
We send our congratulations to these learners and wish them all the best as they go on to complete the final practical assessment for this qualification and develop their careers as incredible advanced veterinary nurses.
